Re-review: Fido
I went back to Fido on a Friday afternoon about 2pm. I figured it was an ideal time to go and get some reading done, since the undergrads from Vanderbilt are out of town. I decided to try a menu-for-the-day item, breakfast torte. The dish was wonderful! It was made out of scrambled eggs and sauteed chorizo between two toasted tortillas, and it was accompanied by a wonderful freshly-made tomato salsa. So good.
If you’re in the mood for real food at Fido’s, instead of just coffee, go with an item from the day’s menu upon the wall in lieu of a regular menu item. You won’t be disappointed. Awhile back while at Fido I had sweet potato fries that I’ve been yearning to have again. They were just right – not too crispy or too soft, and with a homemade horseradish sauce. I’ve yet to see it on the menu again but I keep hoping.
