Nola’s

What a treat it is to eat at Nola’s! I ventured there on a Saturday lunch mission and was pleasantly surprised. The restuarant is located in a little strip mall on West End, near the former location of Vandyland site. The menu was full of interesting Cajun (with a whole slew of po boy choices) and interesting Uraguyan menu items. It seems like an odd pairing, but it works.

I had a fairly simple empanada (beef), along with the house salad. Both were outstanding and obviously made with very fresh ingredients. I highly recommend the house dressing, which is made with parmesan, lots of garlic, and olive oil, along with fresh herbs.

Prices are quite reasonable, and there’s something for everyone on the menu – meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. A note about parking: there are a few spaces in the front of the business, but do everyone else a favor and don’t park there if you plan on going north on West End after your meal. There’s extra parking around back, along with an entrance on the back side of the building.

    Hi Folks,

You are not the only one loving Nola’s. According to my research, The Nashville Scene devoted all or part of an article in their food section to Nola’s *five* times since October 5, 2006. Five times. whoa.

Alas, I just noticed that she is looking for a buyer for the place. There was a death in her family and she is moving back home.
