New menu at F. Scott’s

We finally had a chance to try out the new fall menu at F. Scott’s, and it’s wonderful. Below we’ll detail what three of us ate.

Appetizers:
Butternut Squash, Pancetta and Sage Ragoût with Parmigiano-Regianno Gnocchi. What a fantastic appetizer. Together with a salad this in itself would have made a great meal. The gnocchi were perfect – tender, but not gummy – and the squash had perfect texture as well.
Pizza of the Day. This was the underdog of the meal (due to the plainness of the crust), but still was good. The pizza on this particular day had pesto, three cheeses, roasted red peppers and fried capers.

Entrees:
Grilled Rib-eye, Stone Ground Grits, Smoked Paprika Onion-Rings, Caramelized Onions
Grilled Beef Tenderloin, Shallot and Vella Dry Jack Potato Gratin, Braised Short Rib and Piquillo Sauce
Braised Veal Breast, Kerry and Yukon Gold Mousseline, Sautéed Spinach, Crispy Smokey Shallots
I realized later that all of these dishes were pretty much a variation on meat-potatoes-onions, but each was delicious in its own way and none felt repetitive. The chefs at F. Scott’s know how to perfectly cook a steak to order.

Desserts:
Dark Chocolate Mousse, Mascarpone Sorbet, Espresso Sauce, Chocolate Tuille
An absolutely beautiful dessert. The dish was comprised of different little presentations of chocolate and cream.
Homemade Nutella Ice Cream
Far from “just” ice cream, the Nutella ice cream was the creamiest I’ve ever had. Yum.

We encourage everyone to go out and try their fall menu. Remember, after 9pm all food items are half off.

I love 9 Dine. The service has always been excellent for me when I have gone to F Scotts. The food has always been good too. So, the new chef is good huh?
