New Year’s Eve Dining: Germantown Cafe

I was looking for somewhere nice to take the sweetie and out-of-town guests to for a New Year’s Eve dinner. Timing would be tight as we were going to the Music City Bowl game beforehand. I settled on Germantown Cafe, and we were not disappointed!

Ample parking was available just across the street from the restaurant. The staff had kept in touch with me by phone when it became clear that we would not be able to make our reserved time, but they were amazingly flexible and when we arrived our table was ready in minutes. Unfortunately, we didn’t take pictures of our food because the lighting was low. But our party of five enjoyed the baked brie appetizer, along with delicious entrees of tilapia, flat iron steak, plum pork tenderloin, and an especially impressive leg of lamb. All entrees were accompanied by choice of house or caesar salad. The house bread was puffy and golden and almost doughnut-like…delicious. We debated a long time about whether or not it had been deep-fried. Service was attentive, and our dinner was enhanced by a lovely view of the downtown skyline.

We loved our meal there, and hope to go back for lunch service, as well as explore the Germantown area even more!

I am glad you had a nice time at Germantown, and I am glad they had a table ready for you really quickly! We like Germantown too. I like that salad is included, and that they toss the salad so there is a nice light coating of dressing (not a giant blob on top). Actually, I believe we have only had good meals there. I agree, the view is really lovely.
