A foodie might argue, but there's still nothing better than Satco. Atmosphere, tradition, and brilliant tortillas make everything happy.

Mas Tacos, hands down.

Mas Tacos is really good.
After years of ordering only the pupusas or the burrito, I finally had the tacos at Las Americas last week, and they were very good.

mas tacos is great, esp the fried avocado. but my favorite taco is simply steak with onion and cilantro, and the best place to get that in town is, surprisingly, cinco de mayo (i like the one on white bridge rd).

I'd have to say my fave are at Lopez off of Nolensville Road, close to the Kroger. A tip if you do go, only try the green sauce if you like really, really spicy foods. I thought it was a cilantro/tomatillo salsa and boy was I wrong!

My husband swears by Las Americas, but sadly I have yet to go there. One day…..
I discovered Oscar's Taco Shop just south of downtown Franklin a few months back and they are the closest thing to my beloved Alberto's in San Diego that I've found.

Oscar's Tacos in Franklin are pretty damn good!

I have to go with SATCo (on 21st, NOT downtown), especially if you get the queso!

Anyone else love taco trailers? I've really liked Tex Mex near Charlotte (just blocks past Kroger). We're looking for others…I count three or four on Charlotte, and several on Nolensville. Any thoughts?

Oscar's Taco in Franklin is solid. The pastor is excellent.
The Tex-Mex stand on Charlotte near White Bridge is very good too.

Las Americas carne asada tacos are the best ever. And grab a papusa while you're there!

LAS AMERICAS.

there is a great taco truck in the 6300 block of Charlotte. I probably eat there once a week.

Mas Tacos, hands down. Just wish they were in a bricks and mortar so I could get them whenever I wanted.
Embarrassingly, the Cheesecake Factory has a great chicken taco.
La Hacienda has been the most authentic Mexican food I have found in Nashville these past 4 years.

Tacqueria Vallarta at the corner of OHB and Lebanon road. The new stand at the El Rodeo Mercado on Lebanon road just west of there has great Steak tacos

The taco truck that is next to K&S Market on Nolensville Rd.
There used to be a great taco truck on the side of this little strip mall (that has been torn down) on Charlotte, near the Jack and the Box and the intersection of White Bridge and Charlotte. The 4 shop mini strip mall is gone and so is that truck. In that mall used to be a tamales maker door. In the late morning, the door would open, people would buy the tamales, and the door would shut in a flash, having sold out. Does anyone know where that tamale maker is now?

All of the tacos, but especially the fish variety, are great at Oscar's Tacos in Franklin.

Best tacos in Nashville:
1. Taco Lopez # 2 on Murfreesboro
2. Taqueira San Luis on Harding & Linbar

The Local Taco over on Murphy Road is just enchanting. I tried three different varieties and was a happy camper all around – they've always got different specials and their sangria is AWESOME.
(I, too, must admit to loving SATCo… that porch + that queso = YAY!)

los elotes in Madison have the best tacos i've had in Nashville area. Very authentic. It's a tiny neon green colored building several blocks north of Nashville as your drive up Gallatin in Madison. The server is deadpan to the point of rudeness but the food is incredible.

The Tex-Mex taco stand on Charlotte below K&S is by far the best taco I have had since leaving California. Some of the meat options are a little scary for “Gringo” tastes but live a little. The Pork al Pastor and the Barbacoa are both outstanding. Also a great place for a Torta with the same meat options. Be advised , most of the tortas come with mayo. I would advise sin mayonaisa.

I think their version is the best I’ve had as well. Posting on them (hopefully) within the next month.

Where was the picture in this post taken at? I’m pretty sure I’ve eaten at that truck and it is one of my faves…

You know, I’m actually not sure which one it’s from – is there one you were thinking of?

Glad to see so many taco stands on this list along with Nolensville Rd. locations. I’ve enjoyed Mas Tacos, but for me, they don’t even make the list. Again, for me, gourmet tacos/burgers/bbq are an unfortunate food-fad in Nashville. We’ve got great, cheap, traditional food available in abundance. Who needs 8 dollar tacos? If I wanna spend more than 3 bucks for 3 tacos, I’ll have something better/more interesting than tacos. My tastes wander, but I’ve been partial to the taco bus in front of the Salvation Army on Nolensville recently. Perhaps because it’s so close to Phonoluxe. I’d like to see more quality mid level restaurants with unique menus in Nashville. Do people really want upscale fast food?
