Update on Avalon Acres

This awful flood has affected so many people, including the nice folks at Avalon Acres CSA. But they want you to know that they’ve got hope and plans for repairing the damage the farm has sustained. For current subscribers, you should know that this Wednesday’s deliveries will likely be delayed to give them a chance to make repairs, but they are working very hard to get everything back up and running. Watch your email for more information. Additionally, Tim and Jen are posting information and pictures on their blog to keep everyone updated.

If you haven’t completed your subscription payment, now is NOT the time to back out. This is exactly what subscribing to a CSA is about! Together, farmers and subscribers enjoy the benefits of good growing seasons and work through the tough times. If you’re on a payment plan, consider paying some or all of your payments ahead of time to help with cash flow. And if you haven’t joined a CSA and are considering doing so, now is a really great time to join and support the one you’ve been thinking about. :-)

No matter what CSA you’re with, take a moment to see how your farmers are doing and see if there is anything you can do. There will be many who are hit very hard by this flood.

    We joined Avalon Acres a couple weeks ago and paid in full, and I’m so glad we did! Hoping that money will help them recover and rebuild.
